The format of it is like a four-character prefix-base number-suffix. The first letter of the prefix indicates the decade, the second letter specifies the year, and the third letter represents the engine type, such as 300. For example, cast numbers like C5AE-6014-F. 

When you decode it from the well-reputed source, C5AE illustrates a 300 with a steel crank.

 The combustion chamber is typically round, with a flat side facing the intake or exhaust ports. 

Around the valve, the chamber is slightly sloppy. This is because the size of the exhaust valve is around ¾ of the intake valves.

Coolant sensor

The coolant sensor is also known as the ECT (engine coolant temperature sensor).

The head of the 300 inline 6 has a coolant sensor that detects the internal temperature.

The oil pan identifies the engine, so pull it and check. First, determine whether the casting number on the crank is IN, 1NAB, or 1NA, indicating that it is 300. For the steel crank, it can be following like C6TE-G. 

What Makes the Ford 300 Inline 6 Unique?

 It has a horsepower of roughly 170hp in the early 1960s. If the engine does not have enough horsepower or torque, then it is not worth buying. 

Stroke of the engine with suitable size modification improves the torque around 220 pound-feet of torque. In the 1990’s it was modified into 265 pound-feet of torque, and horsepower is approximately 160hp.

It produces torque at 2000 RPM, which improves due to the low gear ratio of 6.60:1 in the NP-435 transmission and 6.30:1 in the T-18 manual transmission. These have fiber and phenolic timing gears than the timing belts because these are durable.
