Use of non-compatible mobile phone devices

You can control your Toyota car’s functioning with a remote connect feature. You have to install the app on your mobile phone or smartwatch. You can use it by registering the vehicle identification number and setting its password.

It is compatible with different mobile phone devices, including Androids and Apple. However, it cannot function with several mobile phone models.

The issue comes when you install these on non-compatible phones. You can face problems when you do not have information about the compatible devices.

You cannot load it on your phone and see an error code because of its incompatibility. It is necessary to check the mobile phone’s compatibility according to your pickup truck or car.

You can get this information on their official website or owner’s manual.

Battery saving mode

Several mobile phone devices have power-saving modes. It activates automatically because of low mobile phone battery charging. It is the power-saving mode that shuts off unnecessary apps so you can use your smartphone in emergencies.

The battering saving mode also shuts off the Toyota app. The Remote Connect feature also stops functioning because of a low smartphone battery.

It is necessary to charge your phone while using this feature. Ensure that data saver mode is not activated and the app runs in the background.

Insufficient mobile phone device storage

You cannot load the Toyota app on your smartwatch or phone because of their limited storage. These devices have different storages depending on their models and manufacturing brands.

Moreover, some people cannot log in to the app because of the insufficient storage of their devices. You have to uninstall the unnecessary and unused applications to clear the junk files.

You can use it by uninstalling unnecessary apps and deleting junk files from your phones.

Non-updated app version

Toyota offers several updates for their apps to upgrade their features. You have to update their latest version to keep them functional.

Sometimes, the old version does not support mobile phones, and you cannot use it to control car features. The issue comes when you forget to update their latest version.

Many people do not know their updated version. I also faced the same issue and thought my phone was in battery-saving mode.

I checked the settings, but the power saver mode was not activated. I called my friend, and he told me about the latest update of the app, but I had not installed it.

I opened Google Play and typed the Toyota app in the search bar. I saw the update option and clicked on it to update their software.

App cache not cleared

Sometimes, it stops functioning because of the junk files in their cache. My school friend also experienced the same issue in his car, and he told me that the app became slow on his mobile phone.

It took hours to download the different features and switch between the various settings. These junk files cause the error in normal functioning.

The cache is helpful to clean the junk and corrupted files that are responsible for causing errors. He told me he shut off the app completely to clear the cache.

He opened the settings on his mobile phone and searched the app option. He saw the Toyota app icon there and clicked on it. He selected the clear caches open to restart its functioning and solve the problem.

Poor internet connection

You need an active internet connection for its functioning. Sometimes, the internet connection weakens, and you cannot download several features.

These cannot function when your mobile phone does not have Wi-Fi or cellular data. I also faced the same issue and thought my cellular internet was not working.

I checked the internet connection, and the mobile data was turned off. Moreover, many people accidentally turn on airplane mode and face the same problem.

Sometimes, Wi-Fi has weak signals because of faulty modems and crowded places. Wi-Fi signals also become weak when more than one device is connected to them.

It is necessary to check your mobile data and ensure it is turned on. Moreover, you should also reset your Wi-Fi device to restore the internet connection.

Software bugs

Mobile phones also work on specific software, and glitches are common. You cannot use the Toyota app on your phone if its software is not updated.

Sometimes, the old software does not support the latest version of this app and causes malfunctioning. You can face problems because of software glitches and errors.

Software bugs are also common because of corrupted files. You can remove the software-related bugs from your mobile phones by resetting them.

Turn on the setting and click on the reset option. Moreover, my friend faced the same issue, and he told me that he resolved the problem after shutting off his phone and turning it on after 3 to 5 minutes.

Server Problems

Sometimes, people cannot resolve the issue after fixing the active internet connection and resetting their mobile phone devices because the servers are down.

You can face the problem because of the down server of the Toyota app or your mobile phone software. In addition, down servers can also affect the speed of the app.

Servers are the operating system allowing the app to regenerate specific responses according to the given command.

They cannot respond because of the down servers. It is better to contact the Toyota dealers when their app server is not working. Moreover, you can also restore your mobile phone or smartwatch.

I prefer to uninstall and reinstall the app on your devices to resolve the server issues.

Incorrect registered Toyota vehicle

Many Toyota users complain they cannot control their car’s functioning after installing the app on their mobile phones. The issue comes when you incorrectly register your vehicle.

It is uncommon, but people do this mistakenly, not allowing your vehicle to enroll in the app. You cannot control its functioning when its data is not registered.

The issue comes when you mistakenly enter the incorrect vehicle identification number. You have to make an account on Toyota.com and then add the necessary credentials to proceed with the registration process.

Interference from other apps

People usually use more than one app on their mobile phones simultaneously. The Toyota app stops functioning when other apps on your phone run in the background.

Software running in the background can cause interference in its functioning. It cannot receive the command because of interferences with other apps.

It is necessary to shut down all the apps running in the background to reduce interference.
