What type of light bars should I use on a Silverado?

According to its categories, it is available in single and double rows. Three-row LED bars are for heavy-duty pickup trucks.

Moreover, they have different designs according to their composition. Due to variable layouts, they mount on different variants of Silverado.

The three-row bars comprise multiple bulbs. Moreover, they provide exceptional brightness.

They have curved designs and mounts on the curved brackets. The straight bars have bolt-on installation and fix on the front side bumper.

Things that affect the size of light bars for Silverado

Truck size is the most significant factor which affects their size. The following factors can increase or reduce their dimensions.

Dimensions of the front bumper

The bumper design and dimensions can determine the size of the light bar. The bumper dimensions depend on the size of the pickup truck.

The medium and light-duty trucks have smaller front bumpers, which are suitable for straight LED rods. The heavy-duty variants of Silverado have the capacity for large and wide LED bars.

The light absorption capacities of these bumpers decide their sizes. According to the designs, the LED bars can produce rays to make the road visible.

For example, the 2007 to 2013 Chevy 1500 have lower front bumpers. In addition, they have chrome lining, which can adjust the straight single or double-row rods.

Number of bulbs

The number of their bulbs indicates the brightness level. The single bar has around 4 to 6 bulbs with optimized brightness.

However, the dual rows have double the number of bulbs. The dual-row rod is larger than the counter option.

With these statistics, the three-row option comprises more lamps for maximum brightness. They have longer lengths with extended widths.

They take up more space on the bumper and have challenging installations. They are specific for heavy-duty trucks with more brightness to drive on dark roads.

Design of the light bar

Curved LED rods are famous for their three-dimensional reflective properties. In addition, they have improved performance due to their high-quality composition.

With them, you can get a combination of different light patterns. In addition, they have an adjustable bed that draws current from the pickup truck battery.

They can disperse rays more than the counter rods. Their high-quality reflective features and multiple lamps make them longer and wide.

The straight rods are short with reduced width. The dual rod has a competitive size, which is smaller than the 3D curved LED rod.

How to fit a light bar on Silverado?

You can install it on a Silverado by opening the hood and adjusting it on the handle. Also, you can remove the dual screws with a screwdriver and pull the latch handle.

Access the four screws of the grille, loosen them, pull them off, and collect them in a bag. Adjust the mounting brackets to stabilize the curved bars.

A few packages of straight LED rods come with these brackets. Then, pull down the rubber shutters and avoid damage.

On the backside of the headlight, adjust the wiring harness. Fit the bar and fix it by tightening the screws.

Reassemble the grille and fix it with the four bolts.
