The rubber hoses that are used for transmission systems are not the same as commonly used rubber pipes but are variants designed explicitly for transmission.

These have to be strong enough to endure the pressure of hot fuel for a long. It is not good to use these rubber pipes on high-performance vehicles because they will wear down quickly.

Accordingly, a metal pipe will be the best solution suitable for a high performer car. So, get a rubber tubing rated for transmission, as the name is usually printed on the pipe.

It can cause melting and leakage issues with ordinary rubber pipes due to excessive heat production. It has to be 10 meters long, and the ideal size is 3/4 and 3/8 inches.

Furthermore, it has to be capable of enduring 130 to 150 PSI pressure created by hot fuel to avoid leakage, but generally, the cooling lines have 25 to 30 PSI pressure.

Additionally, you have to prefer AN fitting for high-performance vehicles that will not be cost-effective but is safer than the cheaper barb fittings.

How do you use a rubber hose on the transmission cooling line?

It is quite easy to use a rubber hose on the transmission cooling lines when it leaks, and the fuel drops are clearly visible on the ground surface.

You have to park the vehicle at a safe spot and try to access the underside area to examine the vehicle’s issues when you see fuel leakage.

Check the exact issue, whether there is a small leakage, or the pipe is broken due to corrosion. Cut out the part of the pipe where you find a hole, or remove the broken part.

Take a black rubber tube of an ideal size and attach one end to one side of the transmission line and the second end to another side.

Fix it tightly using hose clamps to avoid fuel leakage due to loose fitting. Once it gets fits correctly, you can ignite the engine and check whether it is leaking or not.

This way, you can quickly replace the broken metal pipe with the black rubber hose, as it takes almost 15 to 30 minutes to do the whole task.
