Deodorize with self-made cleaners

You can make different cleaning agents with household ingredients. For example, vinegar is one of the most popular and effective liquids to remove the smell of vomit from seat belts. 

It has a particular smell that can neutralize the odor of vomit. With a vacuum pump, remove the food particles and remaining vomit from the straps. Take a plastic bowl, and add one part water to it. 

Then, add one part of the vinegar and shake the liquid. Dampen a soft cloth in the solution, scrub it on the vomit stains and remove them. 

With lukewarm water, rinse the belt and leave it to dry for 2 to 5 minutes. Moreover, you can use baking soda to remove it from the straps.

You can sprinkle it over the car seat straps and neutralize the unpleasant smell. Also, you can make a neutralizer by mixing cornstarch with water.

Add 1 to 2 cups of baking soda to a small bowl in 2 cups of water. You can add white vinegar to the mixture to increase its effectiveness.

With a spoon, store the cornstarch in water. Now, dissolve it for 10 to 15 minutes and avoid lumps.

Pour the stirred liquid into a spray bottle. Apply the mixture on the belts and leave for 4 to 5 minutes. 

Clean the straps with a dry and soft piece of cloth. Corn starch is one of the most effective methods for removing unpleasant odors.

It improves the performance of sponges. It is non-abrasive and neutralizes the smell. Make a solution of soap and water. Select a soap that has a pleasant fragrance.

Cut it into small pieces and add to a bucket. Pour 3 to 4 cups of water and leave it for 2 to 4 hours.

You can use liquid soap for instant results. Mix it with warm or cold water according to your requirement. 

Spray it over the stains and remove them. It can remove the smell immediately and leaves a pleasant odor on the seats. 

You can use hydrogen peroxide by diluting it with water. In the solution, mix hydrogen peroxide with lemon drops. 

Pour it into a bottle that comprises a nozzle. Then, shake it for 1 to 3 minutes with mechanical movements.

Concentrated hydrogen peroxide is dangerous for the surface of straps. Use its solution on its upper side, and soak them in the liquid for 5 to 10 minutes. 

With a high-quality towel, absorb the liquid from them. Dry the surface with clean and soft dusters.

It can dissipate the unpleasant odor within minutes. 

Use commercial cleaning agents

You cannot remove the odor without cleaning the food stains. However, different commercial neutralizers are available with a variable price range. 

A carpet cleaner is a commercial liquid that has an internal fragrance. For example, it can remove the smell of vomiting from car seat straps. 

It contains the components of shampoo and other cleaning ingredients. Spray it directly on the belts and use a moderate level. 

An excessive amount of commercial cleaning agents can affect the seats. Furthermore, they become wet and cannot support the passengers. 

You can soak them for 5 to 15 minutes. To avoid these problems, scrub the surface with a sponge or soft cloth. 

You can scrub them with a high-quality towel that has absorbing properties. 

Remove odor with disinfectant

Disinfectants are one of the most effective liquids for removing vomit odors from distinct automobiles. 

Due to their internal properties, they can destroy different bacteria. In addition, enzymatic disinfectants are available with commercial packaging.

Due to its enzymes, it can break down bacteria. As a result, it can remove surface stains and work as a fragrance spray. 

Also, you can make homemade disinfectants with ammonia and water. Take a bucket, fill it with 900 to 1000 ml of clean water, add ammonia and mix it.

To make the solution, you can take ten parts per million of ammonia by measuring it correctly. Furthermore, you can dilute the bleach by adding it to water. 

Pour it into the bottle and spray on the seat straps in your car and remove odor.

Spray Black coffee on the car seat straps

It is one of the most affordable methods to remove the odor of vomiting from the straps of adult and baby seats. However, you cannot rub coffee grains directly on the surface of straps because they do not affect the surface. 

To remove the noxious smell, add 1 to 2 cups of coffee grains in a plastic bowl and mix them with hot water. Make a thick pasty mixture by stirring the beans with water. 

You can apply it directly on the straps. But, it can flow down on the seats and damage their surface. To avoid further staining, soak a cloth in the mixture of water and coffee beans. 

Then, rub it over the belts for 4 to 5 minutes with gentle movements. Leave the dried coffee on them for 30 to 45 minutes. 

You can leave it over the belts for 22 to 24 hours for better results. With a wet cloth, rub the straps for 8 to 10 minutes. 

You can remove the layer of black coffee with a wet duster or towel. Coffee has an absorbing ability, and its odor overcomes the vomit smell. 

Use fabric softener

Fabric softener is a high-quality detergent that can rove the unpleasant odor of vomiting from car seat straps. These are ready-made liquids with fragrances and cleaning power. 

Moreover, they have a complex composition for their high-performance results. For example, a standard fabric softener comprises enzymes to kill bacteria. 

Furthermore, it contains different surfactants, which neutralize the vomit smell within minutes. Their internal foam regulators provide a foamy effect on the surface of belts.

You cannot apply them directly on the straps. However, you can make a solution by diluting the fabric softener.

Take a plastic bucket and fill it with slightly warm water. Add 2 to 3 cups of detergent in water and stir it for 6 to 8 minutes.

Soak the belts in this solution and leave them for 20 to 24 hours. Due to the detergent, you can feel a pleasant smell that overpowers the vomit odor.
