What Year Chrysler Pacifica Parts Are Interchangeable?

The Chrysler Pacifica is a multipurpose vehicle that has undergone significant body style and functionality transformations since its introduction. Having sold almost a million vehicles in different variants, you can easily find interchangeable parts for your model to maintain, upgrade, or personalize its features.

What Year Chrysler Pacifica Parts Are Interchangeable? Chrysler Pacifica SUVs from 2004-2006 models with a 3.5-liter V6 and 2017-2023 minivan models with 3.6-liter V6 engines have interchangeable parts. You can swap the stow-n-go seats for 2017-2023 variants. Headlights and taillights are compatible with the 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 models of this minivan.

You will also find information about the major body styling changes of this minivan and its impact on the compatibility of parts.

It has undergone multiple body style changes over the years, evolving from a minivan-only concept model in 1999 to a crossover SUV in 2004 and a minivan again in 2017.

After the concept models by Chrysler, the first commercially available vehicle was in 2004 as a midsize crossover SUV, and it remained in service for 2004-2008 variants until its discontinuation.

In this lineup, Chrysler introduced the first body restyling in 2007. Later, in 2017, the manufacturer produced the minivan version of the Pacifica, which is still in service.

Major body styling changes occurred for the 2021 variant, which has a bolder exterior look and an AWD option.

There are two distinct automobile variants under the brand name Chrysler Pacifica, including a crossover SUV from 2004-2008 and a minivan from 2017-present models.

Engine parts

Chrysler Pacifica SUV models from 2004- 2006 have a 3.5-liter V6 engine installed in transverse position, and you can swap complete assembly between these variants. 2007-2008 models have 4.0-liter V6 engines with compatible fittings and parts.

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine is available in all years from 2017-2023.

However, its plug-in hybrid variants have the same engine, but they have different installation and electrical and electronic systems. Therefore, you need to be specific according to the configuration of your particular year.

Transmission parts

You can swap the 4-speed automatic 41AE transmission assembly or its components for 2004-2006 models with 3.5-liter V6 engines other than base trim levels.

The 3.8-liter V6 in Base trim level has a 4-speed automatic 41TE transmission with interchangeable parts for 2004-2008 models except 2006. 2017-2023 variants of Chrysler Pacifica minivan have newly designed 9-speed automatic e-CVT transmission.

You can swap between these variants but avoid the 2017 model, which has a lot of issues. Moreover, the latest minivans have some wiring changes, so you should choose from adjacent years.

Despite having the same transmission, its hybrid version has a different part number, and you should select specifically from hybrid or non-hybrid variants according to your vehicle.

Stow-n-go seating system

Chrysler Pacifica minivans have a stow-n-go seating system where 2nd-row seats can be folded into a cabin inside the floor, making a lot of cargo space. You can swap these seats in 2017-2023 variants as they have this feature available.

However, there is a difference in seating capacity for hybrid models, and you cannot swap stow-n-go seats of non-hybrid variants with them.

You can also replace the 8th seat that is not stow-n-go in 2017-onwards. You can switch the seats between SUV variants from 2004-2008, as they don’t have a stow-n-go seating system.

Suspension and steering linkages

You can swap the front and rear suspension parts and steering linkages for the 2004-2008 models of Chrysler Pacifica, having the same trim levels and drive configuration.

However, the 2004 variants have most problems related to sway bars and control arms.

Its minivan variants have interchangeable suspension parts for the 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 models. There can be minor differences between the FWD and AWD variants of the minivan.

Exterior body parts

Exterior body parts, including the grille, bumper, hood, fender, and other trim panels, are compatible with 2004, 2005-2006, and 2007-2008 variants.

You can swap the fenders and bumper for 2017-2023 models with minor differences in styling cues for before and after 2021 variants. The grille design is identical for 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 minivans.

The Chrysler emblem on the grille is universal for all years. Moreover, you will find differences in the styling of exterior body parts, especially emblems, and grilles for different trim levels, and ensure their compatibility before going for interchange.

You can replace the headlight assembly and its parts for the 2004-2006 and 2007-2008 Chrysler Pacifica SUV models because of body style changes by the manufacturer in 2007.

However, you can swap taillights between all models from 2004 to 2008. For minivan variants, headlights and taillights have design changes for 2021-onwards vehicles.

Therefore, you can interchange them between 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 variants having the same design, wiring harnesses, and other parts, as well as programming of Uconnect modules. 2017-2020 minivans have conventional tail light designs, while 2021-2023 models have horizontal tail lights running across the vehicle width in the complete rear center.

All model years of Chrysler Pacifica have the same 5x127mm (5×5 inches) bolt pattern, irrespective of SUV and minivan variants.

However, wheels are specific for the Pacifica variants, and you cannot interchange them with other Chrysler vehicles. SUV models have options for 17” or 19” wheels from 2004-2008.

Similarly, the 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 variants have compatible wheel dimensions, and you can swap them after checking the size parameters, including their diameter, rim width, center bore, and offset.

Instrument cluster and dashboard parts

The instrument cluster is specific for each year from 2017-2023 variants.

However, other dashboard parts, including switches, trims, instrument cluster bezels, air conditioning and heater outlet, gloves box, and infotainment system, are compatible with the 2017-2020 and 2021-2023 models of the minivan.

Furthermore, variants from 2004-2006 and 2007-2008 have swappable instrument clusters. However, you have to change programming for swapping body control modules (BCM) or PCM from one vehicle to another, as it has saved data related to your vehicle.

Electronic system

Various electronic systems, including control modules, wiring harnesses, and sensors, are compatible with Chrysler Pacifica years with the same engine options.

For example, the tire pressure sensor is compatible with the 2017-2020 model with the 3.6-liter V6 hybrid engine. You can replace the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors for the 2017-2023 years, as they have the same engine type.

Similarly, the blind spot sensor module is interchangeable for 2017-2023 variants. Relays, switches, and fuses are compatible with the 2004-2008 and 2017-2023 models.

However, there can be minor changes in wiring harnesses for each year, and you should specifically inspect the pin configuration or part number before swapping.

Brake parts

Brake parts, including rotors, pads, calipers, and other hydraulic system components, are interchangeable for 2004-2008 variants as long as both vehicles have matching wheel dimensions.

Similarly, the parking brake and its cable are compatible with the 2004-2008 variants without any modifications.

2017-2020 and 2021-2023 minivan models also have similar brakes, while parts like the master cylinder, hydraulic lines, and pads are compatible with all 2017-2023 minivans. However, different trim levels differ in terms of quality and size of brake parts.

Timing chain and belts

3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engines in 2017-2023 models have timing chains instead of belts. Therefore, you can swap it between all minivans, including the hybrid variants of Chrysler Pacifica.

The serpentine belt passing through the alternator and water pumps is also interchangeable for 2017-2023 variants

For 2004-2008 crossover SUV models, there are 3 engine options, including 3.5-liter, 3.8-liter, and 4.0-liter V6, and they have timing belts that are swappable for the same engine types.
